London Style

This Weekend I visited London, being a London girl born and raised, but having moved away. I love individualism and variety in fashion and the true unorthodox freedom people have in expressing themselves through what they wear.
Fashion allows people to show their personality and express themselves in a way that words would never describe.
Fashion is an art, I visited a lot of art galleries, and met some very interesting people. along with some incredible art which inspired me and my style.

I loved this mans style, down to they way he posed in this picture, it was a privilege to photograph him and he defiantly deserved a place on this blog post. His style demonstrates my favourite London style. In this picture he is wearing a mid length navy overcoat, skinny jeans, gold and silver jewellery and a navy fedora hat, we cannot forget his hair!! I think its safe to say this is some of the coolest hair  and facial hair id ever seen, it puts my hair to shame.

We love this!

I had to get a shot of this lady, she is one of the most stylish on trend dressed people I seen all day, everything from her coat to her shoes, shouted awesome! With her Long sandy coloured over coat, colourful patterned scarf and red laces! It just shows no matter how old you are you can still look 10 times more fashionable than the younger generation!

This man defines the word hipster and awesome, this outfit put together captures some of the latest trends without looking main stream! From his a tartan oversized jacket down to his colourful brogues and turned up jeans, and his blue clutch bag! Underneath his jacket he had hundreds of colourful tattoos and we love his stretchers!

I love this girls style, we bumped into each other in the Saatchi Gallery, along the Kings Road!
Her style is flawless! with her black turtle neck and chunky belt with some boyfriend jeans and an oversized bomber jacket and brogues. We cannot forget her hair, this is some of the most amazing hair i've ever seen! Her whole person was inspirational and her fashion was very London.

 Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn is one of my ultimate fashion idols, everything about her yells fabulous, she recreated beauty and i will be ever indebted to her. In every photo she seems so happy and content.
she didn't care about what people thought. She was the style icon of her time and still is a massive influential style icon today. She recreated the way women dress and was a massive sex icon.
one of her famous quotes was ' a woman's clothes should be tight enough to show she's a women but loose enough to show she's a lady'

Embrace Your Curves

Beauty had no size, embrace your curves. Enjoy every moment of your curves flaunt them like crazy.
"When life throws you curves...learn how to use them!"
Being a curvy lady myself i feel people should embrace their curves and use them to their advantage!
Now theres nothing wrong with being skinny, that is another form of beauty. But i feel there is not enough positive press for curvy women and women are often pressured to look a certain way by the press or our culture, but i feel beauty lies in whats beneath.
"women are like roads, the more curves they have the more dangerous they are"
Don't hide your curves, get out that little black dress and wear it with pride, because no one else can look that good- never forget that, don't feel pressured to look a certain way you have something no one else has.
Catwalk shows such as the Victoria secrets show, makes young women feel like they should look that way, but we do not see enough press for the curvy women out there.

some of the most powerful women in our celebrity culture are leading the way in curves-
one of my favourite leading ladies is Queen B - Beyoncè, Kim Kardashian, Kelly brook and Kat Dennings with many more embracing their curves.

so why are we living in a society were size 0 is still the preferred size?
add your comments below xx

some of us embrace our curves a little more than others ... cough cough .. Kim- but i personally love her for showing off her curves.

Choose the clothes to suit Your body type

Getting the right clothes to flatter your body type is important, it can make a real difference. Choosing from a smock dress from a bodycon or a skater dress from an empire line to a drop line waist can make all the difference. Once you start choosing clothes to suit your body type, choosing what to buy becomes a lot simpler.
There have been many discussions into the different body types, from the hourglass to the pear bodyshape.
There are many different shapes, including; the pear shape, hourglass, apple, rectangle, inverted triangle and the lean column. What is your body shape? look below.

Dressing for your body shape can be difficult, but I am here to help, here are some examples of celebrities with each of these body types and an example of what they wear to flatter their bodyshape.

The Hourglass

With an hourglass figure, go for outfits which nip in your waist and exaggerate your curves, bodycon dresses are perfect for doing this, often dresses at the knee or just below flatter your figure. A-line and pencil skirts are universally flattering. They work well for hourglass figures because they hug your curves and keep things streamlined.

The Pear

Long dresses or strapless bodycon dresses, help flatter your figure. Bring in your waist with a belt and wear skirts which outline your assets. Avoid skater skirts, go for more figure hugging outfits, to show off what you got!

The Inverted Triangle

Drape dresses look great, also you can rock strapless dresses, shorter dresses look great and can be accessorised with heals. Try the skater dress or the flare dress they suit the inverted triangle figure so much! Peplum tops look amazing and exaggerate your hips. Keep details, fuss, anything that creates volume to your lower half and keep your top half clean and uncluttered. Straight clothing lines are a natural extension to your body line. Create the illusion of a waist with waist details such as a wider belt

The Apple

Wear shirts or dresses that flow from under your bust, expanding at the waist. Remember that drawing attention to your bust is different from looking top-heavy. You don't need to wear elaborate necklaces or tops with ornate patterns near the neck. You already have a great bust.

The Rectangle

A-line skirts work really well for this shape. You can also go the other way and wear a tight skirt or pants to highlight the curves that you do not have. You can wear almost any shape trousers but slightly flared trousers will look great on you as it will add more shape to your body. Low to mid waited pants are usually best. A knee length pencil skirt that tapers in at the side will also add some curves and look good. If you like the waistless look you can opt for straight skirts and shirt dresses. For shoes, opt for curvier and rounded options like ballerinas and pumps.

The Bodycon Dress

The Bodycon dress is not something new, but it is certainly not something which has been a fleeting sensation, the Bodycon dress has redefined the way women dress, bringing out the curves and embracing the inner Kim Kardashian in all of us! I am a huge fan of the Bodycon dress, it flatters and fits in the right way, and is especially useful for women with curves! The Bodycon dress has helped me recreate the way I dress and embrace my curves!
The Bodycon dress is defiantly one for my curvy ladies, it helps bring in your waist and show of those assets. I love the Bodycon dress and I barely wear anything else, once you have found your staple pieces in your wardrobe stick with them and ACCESSORISE!!
Celebrities such as Kelly Brook, Khloe Kardashian, Beyoncè, and Kim Kardashian are embracing their curves and rocking the Bodycon dress!! we love you
